I have just noticed a pretty fleck in a bloom of what I believe to be Lucky Piece. Could this be a sport and if so what should I do about it.

I have often wondered about the 'Petal Fleck' disease that New Zealand coped with years ago. Your rose might be a sport, but I would consider the possibility that it isn't. I think petal fleck is only transmitted through cuttings or budwood, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for your quick reply, I have uploaded a pic taken in the dark. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

I am sorry Phil. Probably only a New Zealander who could remember petal fleck could say yea or nay. But I suspect petal fleck could be in Australia - many Australians have visited that exquisite country.

I can hear all the breeders from here to Timbuktoo kackling into their morning coffee right now.

What happens when two very different roses have the same name.

That is very often the case. HMF lists them separately with rose class, breeder name and year in brackets.

OK, tried to join a member 847563 and also as Alpha Control, both times the registration locked up on page 2 but I can't access either of these names to register at all. I have used the forgotten password to log in as annonymous, then changed my username to the current one, but I can not post a question because it says I'm still not registered.
How do you GET FULLY REGISTERED? and
How do you ever expect the site to grow, with all these registration problems ?
Using win7 & Chrome browser, if that helps.
