Introduced in Netherlands by Jan Spek Rozen BV in 1920 as 'Ideal'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1924 as 'Ideal'.

Polyantha.  

Crimson - scarlet, darker shading.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, globular bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  

Bushy.  

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Hardy.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
