Doreen is a rose that I liked when it was first brought to my notice by the raiser at his nursery. In my garden it is not one of the most vigorous growers, but not unsatisfactory. Its sunset coloured blooms are of good form, and of medium size.

Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1954. Doreen HT. (Robinson, 1951). A very beautiful decorative variety which in its young stage is rich yellow flushed and streaked with red. Unfortunately the colour fades very quickly here but in a cooler climate or in autumn it would be a very acceptable variety.

A small but attractive group from Messrs. Bakers contained..... and also an exceptional richly coloured gold Rose with a hint of orange, named Doreen. I had not met this variety before but now I shall watch for it with interest.

Award withheld 1950 as variety not then named.

The National Rose Society nous fait connaître, par la liste suivante, les Roses nouvelles ayant reçu au cours de l'année 1951 le Trial Ground Certificate, et certaines d'entre elles ont reçu en plus une Médaille d'or et un Certificat de mérite....
