The Doreen rose hybrid tea, was developed at Bees Nurseries, sealand, cheshire, united kingdom.
It was named after my mother Doreen Johnson as was, in 1951.

Thanks Elizabethcarol.
I am always interested in the history of each rose, and so went to my books and have added a few more references on 'Doreen'. I cannot find anything with it being connected with Bees Nurseries, rather my information has it raised by H. Robinson, Leicester and distributed by Baker's of Codsall. See the references.

It must be pleasing to have a rose named after your mother - and I hope you still have a bush?
I don't suppose she visited Australia did she? The Australian breeder George Dawson also named a light pink hybrid tea 'Doreen Johnson' in 1976.
