Except in very favored regions, 'Talisman' is likely to produce a great many short-petaled, rather nondescript flowers in hot weather, frequently assuming the ugly black-ball center of 'Souv[enir] de Claudius Pernet' [Pern]. Even where this fault is most evident, it disappears in cool weather...
