OMG this is really beautiful... it looks like 100% alba in character. The fragrance? Is it also like albas?

Maid Amelie is a F1-generation - descant of Great Maiden´s Blush.

Interesting that it repeats. Gorgeous flowers, more Austin than the Austims nowadays (actual OGR)

Maid Amelie is without any "Austin-genes".

Was 'Maiden's Blush' the seed or pollen parent?

It was the pollen parent. I have more seedlings of Maidens Blush, but Maid Amelie is the best. Some of seedlings are only onceblooming or have single-blooms. Many seedlings died or often nothing germinated. Or the seedlings have the modern style. Maid Amelie is steril. I hope Amelie will get hips every year - but nothing.

Thank you Andrea. I've adjusted the parentage accordingly. It is a beautiful rose - and the more interesting because I have recently read (somewhere....) that the Alba's did not really propagate.

it's a beautiful rose. I have a number of hips this season from Maiden's Blush x Whimsy. I hope I get something a pretty as yours Andrea.

Hi, Robert, I hope your seeds will germinate. When Whimsy is diploid than the seedlings will be pentaploid. When whimsy is tetraploid than the seedlings will be hexaploid. Maiden´s Blush is hexaploid. (4 in eggs, 2 in pollen).
Hi Patricia, it´s not a problem to propagate Maid Amelie. Now she is in a nursery and we make tests. (is she good enough.....). In some years we will introduce her in Germany.

Andrea,
Thank you for explaining the ploidy level. If I get germination they should be hexaploid. I hope this beauty gets to market.
