Bloom:
Apricot, ages to light pink . Can change to more gold or even pink in some weather. more apricot when cool. Very double like an old garden rose.. Mild, apple fragrance. 40 to 60 petals. Average diameter 1.5". Very large, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, button-eye, old-fashioned, rosette, ruffled bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Medium, decorative buds.
Habit:
Medium, armed with thorns / prickles, spreading. Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.
Height: 1' to 16" (30 to 40cm). Width: 1' (30cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, garden or hanging basket. Flowers drop off cleanly. prefers cool sites.. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, mildew resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection). Cut back one-half every year..
Breeder's notes:
Very double old fashion style flower, much like a David Austin English rose in miniature. Can produce large sprays of roses. Dependable bloomer and seems to prefer cool to moderate summers. Named in memory of a young man, by his loving parents. Flower colour is heavily influenced by temperature.
