Origin:

Bred by Paul Barden (United States, 2002).
Introduced in United States by Rogue Valley Roses in 2008 as 'Incantation'.

Bloom:

Pink to red, white edges, white reverse. Deep raspberry pink to red with white picotee and a white reverse. Moderate, clove fragrance. 12 to 28 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters, flat to cupped bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Small, ovoid buds.

Habit:

Medium, bushy. Medium, glossy, dark green, dense foliage.

Height: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm). Width: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 10b. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, garden, landscape, shrub or specimen. Hardy. benefits from winter protection in colder climates. can be grown as a shrub. flowers drop off cleanly. heat tolerant. prefers full sun. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Breeder's notes:

This little shrub is a workhorse! It blooms so profusely that it sometimes almost obscures the foliage. I especially like its clove scent. This plant stands out in the garden because of its bright and cheerful color. Almost totally blackspot free in testing.
