Introduced in United States by The Uncommon Rose Historic Archive in 2005 as 'Barbara Oliva'.

Class:

Moss, Moss - Modern.

Bloom:

Mauve to violet, lighter reverse. Flowers mauve, violet-purple blend upper; paler violet reverse.. Strong fragrance. 70 to 120 petals. Average diameter 3.5". Medium, very full (41+ petals), in small clusters, cupped, quartered bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Medium, arching, bushy, upright. Small, matte, dark green foliage.

Height: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm). Width: 3' to 6' (90 to 185cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 4b through 8b. Can be used for beds and borders or shrub. Hardy. does not do well in warmer climates. drought resistant. plant in partial shade for best color. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, susceptible to blackspot . Prune after flowering is finished. Prune lightly until this rose gets established (about two years), then prune it back by about a third.. Remove unproductive wood every third year or so.

Breeder's notes:

The parent of this variety is actually unknown. This cultivar arose as a seedling from open pollinated seed collected from an unidentified once-blooming pink moss I encountered years ago.
