Graham Stuart Rose Book, 1994 edition. Page 182
'Frühlingsanfang'. Kordes, Germany, 1950. 'Joanna Hill' x Rosa pimpinellifolia 'Grandiflora'. Very few of the newer shrub roses, or the species themselves, make such a luxuriant shrub as this; the copious leaves create a mantle of dark greenery against which the spring display of flowers is conspicuous. The flowers are of ivory-white, single, sumptuous, and open wide and flat. In the autumn handsome maroon-red heps are produced, at which time the leaves usually turn to rich colours. 8 feet by 9 feet.

I am growing this rose north of Fort St. John BC in Zone 1 - 2, It is glowing well and blooms beautifly, the only thing I don't care for is the short time it blooms

Is that Canadian Zone 1-2? I believe I read somewhere that your zones are different than the USDA hardiness zones. Can you tell me your average low temperatures in the winter?
