I received this rose from a reputable supplier but it isn't as deep a color as the others shown on this site. Its form is the same and it is very hardy. It returned here in Alaska with just snow protection. Fragrant Cloud, a parent plant, also does well with returning here.

Got this as a band from Vintage, April '11 having previously grown it when I believe Armstrong carried it in the early 80's. Definitely a personality! Plant tends to grow bolt upright, this is one where if it is not, in my experiences, ideally suited you may end up with more plant and more gorgeous glossy leaves than blooms (I think that is Arthur Bell coming through). The color is quite unique, there is nothing like it that comes to mind: bright coral with a silver or white reverse. This is also a variety that WHEN the stars align, the bloom you see, the form, the fragrance, the color, will leave you speechless. But that is when the stars align. Often the blooms are rather small, or they go the other way and get big and confused and cabbagey....or as written, you get all plant and little bloom..........if interesting bicolors are your thing and you have space, it is worth a try............the fragrance is sharper than even Fragrant Cloud, top notch..........
