Not much up. I lost Steven's Big Purple :( That bites. I'll look for another somewhere down the road.
A couple of bushes don't look too happy with being moved, but what can ya do?
The Fairy has gall all over the place, so she has to be shovel pruned. The Ingenious Mr. Fairchild is going to go in her place. These roses were potted instead of put into the ground because I can bury the pots in the ground and moving will be easier if the place doesn't suit them.
Got the DA's in!!! Yippee, all 7 and they're being soaked in root starter solution and will be potted asap.
They look awesome~ some already have feeder roots.
Pruned everything! Seems early, but its all budding out!
Chicago Peace, Pretty Lady, Yellow Standard, Fragrant Cloud has been moved to the front, eliminating the need for the side square garden.
David Austin Roses are unbelievable in form and personality~ both rose AND human :)
I ordered 6 roses... forgot the 7th as I couldn't make up my mind and forgot all in all to pick one. It was Miss Alice and she would be perfect for the front... so after kicking myself, I emailed David Austin to see if I could have that one added combined onto the first order. Michele Jaramillo (Assistant Manager- David Austin Roses 1-800-328-8893 Fax 903-526-1900) emailed me back the next day and said yes, they could and she'd make sure it got done soon.
Well, today, the order invoice came and showed the 6 roses + the 7th FREE, plus an added 10% my next order. How nice is that? I'm incredibly appreciative and they have a lifelong costumer in me :) Plus, everyone and their brother is going to know that their people are as sweet as their roses.
This was the nicest welcome back to gardening surprise and came at a great time. Now it seems the right time and the right strength to keep it all up again :)
Whats left to do this spring... prune, feed. Get leaves up (DH). Plant the ferns up against the brick front, paint some rusty iron stuff for the side, hang the yard art and a few art-birdhouses.
Enjoy.
