(1935) Page(s) 107. My first experience with the climbing sports of the bush Hybrid Tea roses began six years ago. In a planting of fifty dwarf Hybrid Teas on a clay foundation, one bush of Red Radiance... out grew all of its companions, but as I had never seen a climbing sport, it was not until I had it in its second year that I fully realized its superiority. With no better treatment, and only the scanty natural rainfall available, it produced one hundred and twenty-five perfect buds or open flowers at its first spring blooming compared to the ten to twelve buds furnished by its companions.
