From Messrs. Kelway and Son, Langport, came a large and highly attractive collection of cut flowers, comprising herbaceous pæonies, pyrethrums, and delphiniums. [...] The single pæonies of special merit in the collection comprise Anolani, Stanley, Ambrosia, Abus, Nico, Quinetus, Julia Kelway, and Duchess of Fife.

Messrs. Paul and Son, Cheshunt, sent a group of the single white Sea Shell rose, a very pretty perpetual-flowering Wichuraiana variety; Agate is a double white dwarf variety of the same class.

During the nights of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of January my thermometer registered here, in a walled garden at five feet from the ground, and in the open, 23°, 21°, 22°, and 22° of frost respectively... The snow here froze on the branches, and was three inches deep on the ground.... My list of uninjured (No. 1) may therefore be relied upon as containing only thoroughly hardy sorts.
