Hello,

I live in Provence (quite the same climate as yours) and I bought a mutabilis.

My 1st question : if I was to plant it as a climber "against" a wall (East exposure), what distance should I keep from the wall ?

My 2nd question : Do you think it would be more at ease if planted between an almond tree and the pilar of the gate + wire fence ?

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards

Stéphanie

I have seen various Mutabilis in France and Italy and they easily had a diameter of 2-2.5 m. So you would need at least 1m distance. I believe it looks more magnificent if it can grow as a shrub where you can admire it from all sides.
