I find the sunblaze minis to be bloom factories...but must be sprayed for BS in the humid south 8b. They make excellent pot roses (16+inch pots), looking and lasting better than potted annuals. Pretty when not in bloom..very compact/dense growth and covered with blooms in flushes. Underplant creeping jenny 'aura" and white alyssum spilling over--just stunning!

A sport of Lady Sunblaze, with the same good qualities. Lady Sunblaze and Candy Sunblaze are the most beautiful mini roses sold in Brasil (with Mosaic Virus).

My husband bought this plant for me in a small planter. Should I transplant it and when? What special instructions for successful blooming? This is Sept. and I live in Western KY.

Most roses can be planted any time before the ground freezes. You should get the rose into the ground and mulch it as soon as possible. Do not give it any strong fertilizer because the nutrients will cause new-leaf growth that will be extremely vulnerable to oncoming cold weather, frosts and freezing. Make sure that your rose gets agequate water after you plant it. If you have wet winters, your rose will be okay. If you are really worried about your rose surviving the winter, a floating row cover will keep it warmer. You can also call your local extension service for info.
