Origin:

Bred by Roy L. Byrum (United States, before 1942).
Introduced in United States by Howard & Smith in 1946 as 'Butterscotch'.
Introduced in United States by Wayside Gardens in 1946 as 'Butterscotch'.

Class:

Floribunda, Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Lemon-yellow, orange reverse. Reverse orange-yellow. Mild fragrance. 25 to 30 petals. Average diameter 5". Very large, very double, open bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long, pointed buds.

Habit:

Tall, bushy, compact, upright. Glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.

Height: up to 6' (up to 185cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b and warmer. Vigorous. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
