'Le Rire Niais' (also called 'A l'Odeur de Punaise') A Centifolia raised by Dupont before 1810. Stems to 3 ft (1 m). The flowres are double, pink, and medium-sized. An undistinguished rose with an unusual scent. Hardy to -13°F (-25°C), in Zone 5. Citation: Best rose guide : a comprehensive selection / Roger Phillips and Martyn Rix. -- 1st ed. p.60	REPLY

Thank you! The rose in Sangerhausen is now believed not to be Dupont's rose. The synonym 'A l'Odeur du Punaise' was deleted by Thory in the second edition of "Roses"	REPLY

In any case 'La Rire Niais' is grammatically incorrect, it is now merged with the correct 'Le Rire Niais'.	REPLY

Nias is incorrect. "Niais" means simpleton and 'Le Rire Niais' - silly laugh.	REPLY
