Thomas a Becket  Breeder.   Garden 6.5. Exhibition 4.0. Health 6.8. Fragrance 5.0. Height medium. Availability MAT, TAS.   Northland: New this year, bit disappointed but time will tell.  Manawatu: Not sure about the colour being neither red nor pink, shrubby habit.  Manawatu: Has established well, healthy foliage, the flowers appeal, blooms last well on the plant are are fragrant.

(AuswinstonThomas à Becket
A rose of similar character to the Species Roses, with natural, shrubby growth.  The informal rosette flowers are a striking crimson-red.  Held in medium-sized heads, they nod attractively on their stems.  The Old Rose fragrance has a distinct lemon zest character.  Named for Canterbury Cathedral.  David Austin, 2013. We were asked to name this rose for Canterbury Cathedral and were very pleased to do so.
