Origin:
Bred by Unknown (before 1820).
Introduced in Scotland by Dickson and Co. / Dicksons and Shankley in before 1820 as 'Light Marbled'.
Class:
Hybrid Spinosissima.  
Bloom:
Crimson or carmine-red, marbled white; reverse is purplish with white veining.  Blooms late and sometimes not very well.  Small, semi-double to double bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Small foliage.  
Growing:
Can be used for garden.  Hardy.
