Website/Catalog (1964) Page(s) 24. 'La Belle Marie'. Tea. (1942) 4 feet. Flowers repeatedly. This Belle and her sister, Suzanne, were created by a cross between Old Blush China and Madame Laurette Messimy, a Tea, and both favor the Old Blush side of the family. Smooth, medium green foliage, the leaves long and pointed, on a vigorous and prolific plant. Marie has 2 to 2 1/2 inch blooms whose outer petals are a deep rose, the rest slightly lighter and veined with the deeper tone, the very center petals incurved and crinkly. It's lovely . . . and the fragrance is like blending peaches, bananas, orange juice, pears and strawberries, my favorite breakfast in Summer. 3 for 5.25 each 2.00
