Planted my Karl Ploberger from Roses Unlimited in the Spring of 2020. Here in Zone 6a it has done very well and remained healthy all summer. Lots of growth. Very tall, way surpasses the 4’ - 4.5’ tall stated on the description page. Mine currently (Oct 2020) has 4 shoots from this year all well over 6’ tall and another 2 or 3 shoots around 5 ‘ tall. Had to stake them all because each tends to lean. Non-arching, but definitely leans. Mine is planted on a south facing wall with the house directly behind it, but leans anyway. Some nodding noted....I would describe it as partially nodding, but some of that can be contributed to the leaning. Color holds well and blooms smell wonderful, both do not fade. Not good for cutting as the blooms die very soon afterwards, but last longer when left on the bush. Think I might try putting a trellis or structure behind it next year for support and see how it does. Not sure if it will climb necessarily, but would definitely benefit from the support. Despite it’s tendency to lean, I would definitely still purchase this rose again and recommend it to others. The color, form and fragrance alone make it worth tolerating it’s unseemly growth habits.

In 2008 Karl Ploberger received an ADR award. I've planted my first one this year 2016. Anxious to see how well it does in the coming years.
