Same rose as 'Adagio' (Cocker, not the florist rose, where the Cocker 'Adagio' is posted as the florist rose).

Can I clarify please Michael.
Are you saying
Scottish Highlands Cocker 1991. Orange shrub ...is the same rose as
Adagio COCquamber. Syn Home of Time. HT. Cocker 1998.

What is the florists rose you mention?

Average diameter is not 7 inches. Try 7 cm.

I have this rose grown out to near full-sized. It has about one more year (year 4) to reach complete maturity. I would say the plant is similar to the size of Kardinal 85, Kanegem or Caribbean (like 2.5' wide x 4' tall -- maximum). The blooms are usually single, and not clustered, here. They range from 4-5" reguarly. Cold and heat do not seem to affect the size. The color is not much like that of the only photo showing when the plant is more mature. The mature color here seems to be a blended peach, salmon-red and gold inner petals with a burished copper red petal reverse. The scent is strong and fruity. The bloom shape is very round, full and open -- much like an English rose without the 4-part quartering. The disease resistance is superb and the repeat is excellent.

I would not be surprised if this is not the same rose as Home of Time. It is highly similar to Amber Queen and the many Cocker roses raised from (Sabine x Circus). Some of the photos of Home of Time (flower and foliage) are dead on to the rose of Scottish Highlands sold to me by Heirlooms. In any event, the raiser should be changed to Anne Cocker. She is the only likely raiser.

You may very well be right on that size. My plant is still but a one year old toddler grown in a pot that is probably too small, and the bloom size may still get bigger with maturity and a better location. My only point in making the above comment was that this was surely not a rose with a 7 inch bloom, which is what was listed in the general description here until yesterday. It just seemed to me that if it was 7 anythings, it was probably a metric measurement/input issue. I think it's an easy mistake to make, and I've come across a number of roses on HMF with sizes listed that are too big and probably the result of the same input issue, and when I see them, I try to put in a comment to get the issue fixed.

Yeah, definitely not Pristine, Proud Land, Ingrid Bergman or Elina sized! haha

And thank you very much for helping us correct errors in the HMF database. It always helps to have a second pair of eyes, or more, reviewing our work.

Smiles,
Lyn

I guess we had the same idea after writing to one another. I also took pics of it this weekend. Its definitely a rose with an autumn vibe -- perfect for late August.
