'Rose Boursault' rose Description

Bloom:
Vivid pink or red. 12 to 20 petals. Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Glandular sepals, leafy sepals buds.
Habit:
Tall, climbing, few or no prickles/thorns. Fringed stipules foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.

Notes:
Rosa x reclinata var. multiplex Redouté & Thory (1823) According to François Joyaux 'Rose Boursault' was a seedling actually obtained by a daughter of Jean-François Boursault. According to DNA analysis Boursault roses are hybrids of Rosa blanda - see 2024 reference.
