'Pink Diamond' rose References

Book (1943) Page(s) 13. R. Marion Hatton. The World's New Roses. I was pleased with the same firm's Pink Diamond, which was mentioned last year. The plants watched then made good upright growth and produced lovely buds, which opened to 3 1/2 inch spiral blooms of clean pink. Fragrance was quite unimportant. There were 30/35 petals just about right for cutting. My choice of the four would be Pink Diamond.

The World's Novelties Lester Lovett, an eastern nurseryman, recently purchased one of Howard and Smith's California seedlings, named it Pink Diamond, and Eastern dealers are selling it this spring. I have not seen this growing, but cut flowers showed a nicely formed bloom of clear pink but without fragrance, and a Rose without fragrance doesn't greatly interest me.
