Signora Piero Puricelli (J. Potin x Sensation). Questa rosa sarà lanciatta in commercio il prossimo autunno. In America sarà largamente diffusa pel fiore reciso. Dopo due anni di esperimentazioni si è dimostrata superiore alla Presiden Hoover alla quale assomiglia leggermente e come produzione uguaglia la Talisman, ma è più grande, di stelo più lungo, più vigorosa e meno fallace.
Translation:
Signora Piero Puricellei (J. Potin x Sensation). This rose will be launched into commerce this autumn. In America it will be distributed mainly as cut flower. After two years of experimentation, it proved to be superior to President Hoover and equal in production to Talisman, but it is larger, has longer stems, is more vigorous and less fallacious.

One of the most beautifully coloured roses, a medley of orange red with some apricot, some, carmine pink, some yellow in varying degrees: it came out in 1936. Its full name was 'Signora Piero Puricelli' and it was raised by Domenico Aicardi, from San Remo, Italy.....
'Signora was bred from 'Julien Potin' x ' Sensation' and gave much of her character to 'Mojave' In due course. Although she began to succumb to black spot, I remember her with affection for straight stems, firm little thorns, and most attractive colour.

Miller, spécialiste dans ce domaine, est fort intéressante mais très compliquée pour celui dont le vocabulaire chimique est assez pauvre même dans sa langue maternelle, je vais donc faire mon mieux pour me tirer de cette tâche avec le minimum d'erreurs. (American Rose Annual 1963) ...L'auteur a étudié 170 variétés sous différentes conditions atmosphériques et constaté l'existence de plus de 25 parfums élémentaires et de beaucoup de combinaisons de ceux-ci. Les plus fréquents sont : capucine, iris, violette, pomme, orange, citron, girofle, géranium. Un tableau groupe les 34 parfums principaux et composés, les variétés correspondantes étant rangées en conséquence...
