Mr. Morrice Duce, Queensland. Waltzing Matilda. A sport of ‘Christian Dior’ was bred by Jock Jack from Brisbane, Qld. It has flowers of red splashed with light pink double blooms well shaped. It is prone to mildew, but with vigorous growth.

H. K. Cresswell. ‘Christian Dior’, which is supreme among our red exhibition varieties, has produced another sport in Queensland, now available from some nurserymen as ‘Waltzing Matilda’. It is a lighter pink, with white striped petals.

Mr. W. G. Treloar, Victoria. Waltzing Matilda. Before trying this rose my thoughts turned to other striped varieties such as Careless Love, Modern Times, and Legacy which all lack substance and vigour. I was surprised by the first few flowers, as they were of good form and lasted well when cut, but quite a few lack enough variegations to be distinctive.
