'Princesse Adelaide'. Described in Belle Roses as 'one of a thousand and one children of Luxembourg who have for their father M. Hardy', this rose (opposite) was exhibited in the Orangery of the Luxembourg Gardens in 1844, at once acclaimed, given a gold medal and named for the sister of King Louis-Philippe.
