Bred by Walter Schowalter (Canada, circa 1966).
Class:
Shrub.  
Bloom:
Deep Pink.  Very full (41+ petals) bloom form.  
Growing:
USDA zone 3a and warmer.  Very hardy.  
Breeder's notes:
Only seedling to bloom the year of sprouting in a bed of 800. Next year it did it again, producing deep pink, red centred blossoms with 75 petals. Bush lacked vigor, and did not survive the next winter. extinct Red bud, flower pink, 75 petals, with only one functional stamen [WS notes]
