Notes:
R. rugosa var. regeliana Wittm. (Gartenflora 42(17): 539, f.108. 1893) Introduced 1871 by the editors of "Illustration horticole" (J. Linden and E. André) as 'Rosa Regeliana'. The attribution of the introduction to Prof. Regel is an error. 'Rosa Regeliana' is currently considered a synonym of 'Rosa rugosa' Thunberg. We are keeping the listings separate for a better overview of the historical references.
