'Kismet ™' rose Reviews & Comments

This rose appears to be ideally suited for our climate (Zone 9B), the only requirement is that powdery mildew be controlled. Mild days and cool nights allow the gorgeous colors to develop fully. Upright plant with blooms coming singly and in clusters. Foliage is large and attractive. Superb exhibition form but the blooms move fast. Having said that, if it is not too warm, the exhibition form will hold until judging is over. Fully opened blooms are lovely. Long lasting on the bush as well as in a vase. The plant does well on its own roots.

Kismet has absolutely gorgeous foliage but unfortunately the blooms so far have been very disappointing. This plant seems to be a thrip magnet and the blooms rarely escape damage from them even while nearly every other rose in my garden has blooms that are great. Blooms have been quite small as well, usually just under 2 inches. I've had the plant about a year and it is a container plant.
