Book (1966) Page(s) 122. Roy and Heather Rumsey, Dural NSW. Our Twelve Best Sellers. John S. Armstrong This is our most reliable red where a good garden variety is required - always in bloom, good sturdy growth, and very free-flowering. After a heat wave, we have repeatedly observed this variety to be the only one in the garden which has endured. How we ever staged an exhibit before the advent of this particular rose we will never know. When cut, this variety outlasts everything else, for twice or three times as long. However, the really gratifying part of it all is the position this rose holds with our public, for no matter what we think of it, the buying public determines how many of a variety we grow and sell. There is, of course, no place for it on the show bench; it is seen there occasionally, but seldom, if ever, covered with glory. Somehow the public has become aware of the really reliable qualities of this rose, and one must draw the conclusion that commercial interests have promoted this popularity, yet Rose Societies are supposed to be unbiassed. Are they really?
