-
American Rose Annual 1928 p. 165 James Wallet. HT. (Easlea, 1923) A. R. A., 1924. Good on Brier stock.—H. R. F., Mass. I like it.—G. H. G., Wash. A nice rose, but the bloom is small.—G. C. T., Calif. Has remarkable substance and beautiful form but after all, is merely a reboiling of poor old Ophelia’s bones!

The parentage of this rose is seedling of Ophelia, according to Walter Easlea's notes on the margin of The Rosenlexicon which is now owned by the curator of the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden. See the Central Coast Heritage Rose Group webpage at http://members.cruzio.com/~perry/easlea
