Bred by John Cranston & Company (United Kingdom, 1875).
Introduced in Australia by Giles and Son in 1881 as 'Sir Garnet Wolseley'.

Bloom:

Vermilion, carmine-red shading. Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Parentage:

seedling of Prince Camille de Rohan

Notes:

'Marguerite Brassac', 'Paul Jamain' and 'Sir Garnet Wolseley' were declared synonyms of 'Charles Lefèbvre' in 1885 - see References. However, these were originally considered as distinct roses.
