From "Climbing Roses," by Helen Van Pelt Wilson (1955), pp. 61-62:

Mrs. Whitman Cross (1945). CHT. Long, pointed, especially fine buds; large clusters of 4-inch, semi-double, open orange-and-apricot blooms with a pinkish sheen, sometimes rose stripe on reverse; long stems. Repeated bursts of bloom. Glossy, soft foliage.Excellent upright grower to 10 feet. Very hardy, and blooms first season after planting. Tea FRAGRANCE.
