Book (1943) p59. Frank Mason, NZ A fine vase of a locally grown climber was exhibited at this [Bulls] show. It is a soft carmine pink of about fifteen petals, and is an almost continuous bloomer; it is called Mrs. Leslie Moss. Mr. L. Moss has recently taken up hybridising, and has some very interesting plants in bloom and to bloom.
p64. J. M. Forsyth, NZ. Climbing Roses. Mrs. Leslie Moss (Sunny South-Queen of Hearts) is a production of Mr. Frank Mason, Feilding, and as all the plants were sold when I applied for one of New Zealand's own production, a dormant bud was sent. This was planted among the dwarfs on June 14, 1942, and on February 1, 1943, it had reached a height of nine feet, and, "like Johnny Walker, is still going strong." It had shot up to about five feet when the wind took the top off, and from there eight different shoots have grown so evenly that a friend suggested it should be trained as a weeping standard. Not one of my maiden climbers has ever equalled the growth of Mrs. Leslie Moss. So far it has not flowered, but such a vigorous plant of such parentage should be very free flowering.
