I am not sure if C. S. Shamburger, Winona is connected with the Thomasville Nursery who are listed as the discoverer. Refer the 1930 reference.

The nursery is in Georgia, while the sport was discovered in Texas.

Found an earlier 1929 reference stating Thomasville Nurseries as the breeder. It might be that this rose sported at different locations.

Quite often, that's the case. Take a look at Cl. Columbia. Initially, there were five or six introducers of parallel sports. Cl. Iceberg originated for multiple sources, also. Some were only once flowering while others flowered virtually continuously. Early in its distribution, you had to make sure the one you purchased repeated or you could have easily obtained a once flowering plant. Now, virtually every Cl. Iceberg is from the heavily repeating version. It's entirely possible some were more fragrant than others and the more highly scented types have become the "standard". Unless printed documentation can be found to support it historically, we're left with only conjecture.
