Dark red Hybrid Perpetual. Registration name: Gloire de Ducher
Bloom:
Purple - red, violet shading. [Carmine-red, dark purple shading, blue highlights.]. Moderate, violets fragrance. Average diameter 4.25". Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, button-eye, cupped-to-flat, globular bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long buds.
Habit:
Lax, upright. Dark green, dense foliage.
Height: 6' to 7' (185 to 215cm). Width: 5' (150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b and warmer. Hardy. vigorous. Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.

Notes:
Gloire de Ducher (1865) by Ducher and Germania (1889) by Welter are given as synonyms, although there are slight differences in the descriptions. Gloire de Ducher was bred earlier than the stated parents of Germania.
