this picture cannot be the correct rose as it is clearly pink and the rose is actually a camine red

This is where we could use more feedback from our members. As you say, the references describe a red rose while all the photos submitted from multiple members are pink. Can anyone provide some insight here ?

There are three more 'La Favorite'. It is possible that the rose in commerce today is the HP by Guillot or the Bourbon by Vibert.

There is a continuous history of the 1871 HP by Guillot until the early 20th century, so this is the most probable candidate.
