Eugene Boerner, who succeeded Dr. Nicolas as head of Jackson and Perkins' Rose Department, has Pan America, a 25-petalled bloom of cactus form and Pernetiana scent. It is about three inches across. of orange with an orange-pink reverse. Autumn colour was more apricot than orange. The flowers were quite pretty, but stems were very slender, allowing the blooms to droop.
