Is this not just the rose 'Kronenbourg' aka 'Flaming Peace'?

I think it might be. Perhaps the Basics of Horticulture reference was a list of "Introductions", not "breds"? There were some other funny ones listed by the same reference - like 'Pink Montezuma' and 'Salmon Beauty'. Unfortunately I don't have this reference material.

We have comments both in 'Kronenburg' PHOTOS and COMMENTS on this subject. I am sure Jay-Jay, Guapuru 17 and Tomartyr are all correct and in the absence of any follow-up from the administrator who added this 'Kronenburg' listing, I will merge it with 'Kronenbourg'.
Guapuru 17 - you probably need to delete your two photos showing the spelling of 'Kronenburg' in the photos.
I have recently acquired the complete records of Sam McGredy IV which I am longing to get my teeth into. I am sure this will reveal Sam sent 'Kronenbourg' to India. I'll make this one of my first searches, but don't hold your breath. I am trying to catch mine in between conserving the Golden Queen peaches, the tomato saucing, raking the Fallen Karri litter, mowing the grass seeds, looking at the roses out of the corner of my eye, and any second the falling autumn leaves will catch my attention.

The name of the rose is 'Kronenbourg ®' not 'Kronenburg'. Regards

In LA, Calif. it is as strong of a bush as Peace and is always burgundy or dark red with yellow, gold reverse.
Have not tried to take cuttings yet, was able to snag 2 bands from Vintage before they closed.

Has this been authenticated by admin? Both of the photos are clearly of Kronenbourg, a.k.a. Flaming Peace, and even bear the trademarked name. If NBRI really did breed a rose which they or someone else named Kronenburg, then so be it, but at the very least, both of the photos clearly belong under the Kronenbourg listing.
