Thanks Sandie This rose was very popular in Australia from the time of its introduction right up to the 2nd WW. Most refs repeat the Niphetos/Mme Melanie Willermoz parentage and I've always wondered why the offspring of two classic old Teas would be classed as an HT, but from what you've found here, the breeding wasn't as simple as it seemed.

According to the article, the unnamed seedling was descended from 'Mrs. W. J. Grant'.
