‘Botanica’ TOMboy Modern cluster-flowered floribunda. Light pink, repeat flowering. ‘Botanica’ has beautiful pink flowers with just a touch of lilac. These are borne in large clusters and have a delicious fruity perfume. What sets this glorious rose apart from the other Cluster flowered Roses in its ability to produce blooms in profusion. The foliage is healthy, matt and medium green on an extremely vigorous, disease-resistant bush with a slightly spreading habit. It can reach between 3-4 feet (1 – 1.2m) high and about 3 ft (1m) wide. The breeder, George Thomson of Mount Barker in South Australia had long felt that the flower size of many modern cluster flowered roses is too big, and he attempted various crosses to reduce the size of the blooms. With this cross, his dreams were realized and ‘Botanica’ was born. It was named for the successful plant book Botanica which was published in 1997.... Zones 5-9. Thomson, Australia. ‘Avandel’ x ‘Madam President’.
