On the 30 November 1982 P.J. Van der Zee, Dukten ‘De Z.P.C.” B.A., F.G. Van Der Zee, G. Van Der Zee- Universal Plants S.A.R.L. presented a request of patent (n. RM1982V000114) to the Ufficio Italiano Brevetti e Marchi for a new rose named korpek bred by Paul Pekmez.
Italy Patent n. 0000000425 on 2 July 1987.

This rose, thus, is certainly "older" than reported in HMF. And what about the breeder?

Thanks Ca Berta. We've changed the bred date from 1985 to before 1982.
It seems as though it was distributed by Pekmez. See 2014 reference.

I agree that Kordes was the breeder .. still is it rather “strange” that Pekmez patented it in Italy declaring himself as the breeder without mentioning Kordes at all!! I do not know which legal value might have had an italian patent on the market .... not small if, as you can see from some of my other comments, in Italy he tried to patent as his own other roses bred by others ...
But I must say that I am not very acquainted with the rose business and what is a mistery to me migth well be a normal practice.

Note that the request was by P.J. Van der Zee ecc... that at the time was applying for italian patents for apple trees, potatos, gerbera, chrisantemum, carnations ...
