O mais recente livro sobre rosas, publicado na America do Norte, em agosto findo — "Modern Roses" — cita á pagina 9 o polyantha Amaury Fonseca (Soupert & Notting), o lhe da a descripção, inferindo-se dahi que se trata de uma rosa de merito, e vulgar nos estabelectmentos americanos. É claro que os catalogos dos nossos horticultores não fazem a minima referencia a essa rosa.
Translation: Soupert et Notting, the longtime supplier to the Imperial Court of Brazil, dedicated to Mr. Amaury in 1913. one of their loveliest novelties, as can be seen in a letter of theirs, and also in the French journal "Les Amis des Roses" in the November-December issue of the same year. The most recent rose annual published in North America last August- "Modern Roses"- features on page 9 the polyantha Amaury Fonseca (Soupert & Notting), and from the description, one can infer that it is a rose of some merit, and commonly found in American establishments. Of course our own nursery catalogs make no mention of this rose.
