The Garden 51: 121 (Feb 13, 1897)
Rose Albert Paye (H.P.).—As a garden Rose and where abundance of pretty buds is required for button-holes or bouquets the above is extremely valuable. The colour is a beautiful soft silvery pink ; it also has fine foliage and smooth wood, evidently belonging to the extensive Victor Verdier race. It is such a good all-round variety that no matter what kind of season we have this Rose always responds to good cultivation. I know a grower of cut Roses for sale who holds this variety in greater esteem than La France. He contends (which I can verify) that the buds are far more suitable for cutting than are those of La France.—P.
