C. V. Haworth was the chairman of a theater (later a gentleman's club/dining/dancing facility) known as Alhambra, located in Thornton, Lancashire. The structure was built in 1902 and he lived there until his death in 1920. His wife, Mrs. C. V. Haworth, continued to reside there for several years.

1924 Hazlewood Bros.
p31. General List. (26) C. V. Haworth (HT. A. Dickson 1917) F.3. The semi-double blooms are of good size, and a very rich scarlet crimson, becoming deeper in the autumn. Mildew-proof, but we consider 'Lady Maureen Stewart' superior, as it has richer perfume and is freer in bloom. Everywhere.
