Ysanne Horner in collaboration with Heather Horner and Calvin Horner (UK)..
‘Starry Eyed’ (Horcoexist) was awarded the Gold Medal in the rose trials at St A1bans and the Torridge Award in 1996. It lives up to its name when it covers itself all summer with star like blooms. They are striking in so much as the petals have red edges, are white at the base with visible golden stamens that give each bloom a star like quality. There are always many blooms that make quite an impact. The rose attracted interest and acclaim from around the world and in 2005 ‘Starry Eyed’ was awarded the Pacific Rose Bowl and a City of Adelaide award. ‘Starry Eyed’ [(Anna Ford x Little Darling) x (Hamburger Phoenix x Leverkusen)] is a low growing shrub with small mid green leaves that can also be made into an attractive standard and like the other roses produced by Colin is resistant to disease. Colin trained it into a cascade on the corner of the property in England and my mother continues to grow it. ‘Starry Eyed’ is also known as ‘Star Profusion’ and sells well across Europe. Bob Melville launched Horcoexist as ‘Precious Heart’ in 2002 in aide of HeartKids WA.

‘Precious Hearts’ (pbr) (syn. HORcoexist) is a low, spreading shrub rose that smothers itself in small, single, deep red blooms with a yellow centre, creating a marvellous, starry effect. It has small, mid to dark green shiny foliage. Part of the proceeds from the sale of this rose will benefit HeartKids Inc., supporting children with congenital and acquired heart disease. 1m x 3m.
