Bred by Jacques-Louis Descemet (France, before 1799).
Class:
Centifolia, Hybrid Gallica.  
Bloom:
Deep pink.  Purple-pink.  Strong fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters, quartered bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  Medium green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Prune after flowering is finished.
