Bred by Francis Gillot (France, before 1925).
Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1926 as 'Alice Stern'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1928 as 'Alice Stern'.

Hybrid Tea.  

White, cream center, salmon-yellow shading, carmine-pink highlights.  Strong fragrance.  30 to 40 petals.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large, long, pointed buds.  

Bushy, few or no prickles/thorns, upright, well-branched.  Bronze-green foliage.  

USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower or garden.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
